In conjunction with MIFF 2025—Australia’s leading celebration of global screen culture—The Cluster Melbourne presents Shorties Film Festival, a curated event spotlighting emerging filmmakers and bold, thought-provoking short films. Held in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD of creative and cultural scene, Shorties champions innovation, inclusion, and the power of independent cinema. Aligning with MIFF’s vision, our festival invites storytellers to share original works that entertain, challenge, and inspire—making Shorties a standout addition to Melbourne’s cultural calendar this August.

 

 

We are open to all short film submissions now– free entry. Selected films will be screened across three special nights, with prizes awarded to the top three entries. Plus, all participating filmmakers are invited to attend the screenings and connect with fellow creatives.
