Last Updated: September 7, 2026

The safety and well-being of all members, occupants, and visitors at 31 Queen Street is our top priority. This page outlines general evacuation guidelines and site assembly locations in the event of an emergency.

General Emergency Procedures

When an alarm sounds, please remain calm and follow the steps below depending on the alert tone:

  • Alert Tone (“Beep, Beep, Beep”): Stand by for further instructions. Prepare for a potential evacuation by securing your immediate area and taking essential personal items (keys, phone, wallet, necessary attire). Do not evacuate until instructed or until the evacuation tone sounds.
  • Evacuation Tone (“Whoop, Whoop, Whoop”): Evacuate the building immediately using the nearest fire-isolated exit stairwell. Follow all instructions given by floor wardens.
  • Do Not Use Lifts: Always use the emergency stairwells during an evacuation. Lifts will be grounded and reserved for emergency services.

Primary Assembly Area

Upon leaving the building, proceed directly to our designated primary assembly area:

  • Location: Footpath on the corner of Flinders Lane & Market Street.
  • Action: Report to your floor warden at the assembly point so all occupants can be accounted for. Do not re-enter the building until emergency services or the Chief Warden issue an “All Clear.”

Accessibility & Assistance

If you or someone in your tenancy requires assistance during an evacuation due to a temporary or permanent mobility issue, please ensure a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) is lodged with management.
